Consequent upon separation of the Accounts from Audit in Delhi Administration (now Government of N.C.T. of Delhi) w.e.f. 01.04.1977 , the Departmentalized Pay & Accounts Organization came into existence. Pay & Accounts Offices constitute the nodes of departmentalized accounts system. The Principal Accounts Office is the organic Head Quarter of the various constituents of the system. The functions of payments and receipts in respect of all the Departments of Govt. of N.C.T. of Delhi are performed by us as per prescribed accounting norms.The Chief Secretary, Govt. of N.C.T. of Delhi is the Chief Accounting Authority and the Principal Secretary (Finance), Government of N.C.T. of Delhi is the Financial Advisor of Government of NCT of Delhi.
