 II. Introduction

Guru Gobind Singh Govt. Hospital is a 100-bedded hospital. It was  established in the resettlement colony of Raghubir Nagar, West Delhi under "Special Component plan" of Delhi Govt with a view  to provide health care facilities to the low socioeconomic group of people in the area.

The scheme was approved at an estimated cost of Rs.16.96 crores  for construction of hospital on the plot of land measuring approximately 14 acres and the construction began in 1993. On completion of the OPD block, OPD services were commissioned on 30th Dec.1995. The health care facilities are not only utilized by low socio economic group of people but also by various strata of societies living in the area. The bed occupancy of the hospital is more than 100 percent and further expansion with addition of 150 beds in a new block is being planned by the government.
