Delhi Ladli Scheme was launched in the NCT of Delhi on 01.01.2008 to empower the girls by linking financial assistance with their education upto senior secondary level.  Under the scheme financial assistance is sanctioned at the following stages:

o       (provided the girl is born on or after 1/1/2008)

§        For Delivery at Home                                                                 10000/-

o       (provided the girl is born on or after 1/1/2008)

§        On admission in Class I                                                               5000/-

§        On admission in Class VI                                                             5000/-

§        On admission in Class IX                                                             5000/-

§        On passing Class X                                                                       5000/-

§        On admission in Class XII                                                            5000/-

To be eligible the family income should not exceed Rs.1 lac per annum, the family should be a resident of Delhi for atleast 03 years prior to the date of filing of application, the girl child should be born in Delhi and if she is school going the school should be recognized.  The benefit of the scheme is limited to 02 girls per family.

The amount is sanctioned in the name of the girl child and is deposited with SBI Life Insurance Co. Ltd. (SBIL) which manages the amount till the girl attains the age of 18 years and passes Class-X as a regular student or takes admission in Class-XII. On attaining this milestone the girl child can claim the maturity amount, which can be utilized for her higher education or vocational training or for setting up a micro enterprise.
